I've felt like I've been in a bit of a time warp lately. Like many people are admitting on social media, I'm guilty of forgetting what day it is.
While I'm lucky to still be working from home, which has afforded me perspective on day and time, I still can't help but feel like days are slipping away. Rushing by, without ... you know, actually rushing.
I get up, get dressed, work, work, work — and then get ready to do it all again the next day. It's oddly exhausting. But, we'll get through this. I'm grateful that I'm healthy, as are my loved ones, and I'm still employed. It's a good reminder that, no matter how fast time is going, it's important to pause in order to count one's blessings.

What it is: A four-colour eyeshadow palette from the luxe French brand (that we all know and love!) CHANEL.
Beauty bonus: The black lacquer case featuring the iconic double Cs is sure to make it into one or two of your upcoming Instagram flatlays.
Beauty bummer: Those who like lots of shade options in their eyeshadow palettes may find four hues too limited.
Overall: These eyeshadows are a true treat. From the exterior packaging to the pressed powder formulas inside, we love the luxurious feel of these compacts.
The individual eyeshadow pots are small, which we're admittedly fine with as it means you might actually use up these formulas rather than have to toss them over time.
This particular colour collection, dubbed 354 - Warm Memories, offers a selection of nice, neutral hues that are just a little bit unexpected (think a steely brown and a soft, peachy pink). We found they gave lids a nice wash of colour when worn alone, while a primer yielded a more powerful pop.
But, if we're being entirely honest, we're not looking for full-impact makeup with these palettes. Instead, we want that perfectly lived-in look that French beauty gurus seem to achieve so effortlessly.
As for bold pops of colour, we'll save that for our lips (ahem, hello Parisian-approved red lipstick!).

I love a good gold necklace. Especially when it has a little extra personal meaning to it.
While I can readily admit that I don't know much about tarot cards or readings — thought I am intrigued — I'm much more familiar with astrology and Zodiac signs. And I'm consistently amazed by how much a person's sign can share about who they are!
(For the record: I'm a Gemini, through and through)
That's why, my current covets are all about Zodiac sign and tarot-inspired necklaces like the Mejuri necklace Im wearing here.
I've picked a few similar pieces below. Happy shopping!

OK, I'll admit it. I wore this look in my backyard. Yes, there, and only there.
I guess, these days, there isn't anywhere else to go anyway.
We've had so many beautifully sunny days here lately that I've felt emboldened to try out some of my spring and summer pieces — like this puff-sleeve top from H&M.
I had seen similar styles popping up on social, and I loved the pretty pink colour and petite floral print on this piece, so I picked it up online. Paired with high-waist Levi's Ribcage jeans and a Lack of Color hat, the look was giving me all kinds of California vibes. So much so that I posed for a few pics in my backyard while pretending I was in a sunny local south of the border.
Hey, a girl can dream, right?
Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!

What it is: The Canadian beauty powerhouse BITE Beauty has released a newly formulated foundation which is clean, vegan and cruelty free.
Beauty bonus: Letting a dewy glow shine through, this foundation is easy to blend and comfortable to wear.
Beauty bummer: We noticed a bit more transfer when we touched our face than we expected.
Overall: We have been BITE fans for a while now — one of our favourite lip balms is from the brand's Agave lip line.
So, needless to say, we were super excited to try their new foundation formulation containing micellar technology and antioxidant components. The product was easy to apply and provided build-able coverage that went from dewy natural to medium coverage.
Thanks to a few skin-boosting ingredients, the formula felt smooth and light on skin.

What you see right here is what I will be doing this long weekend.
I shared these images on Instagram along with a bit of personal information about how this past week ... has had an effect on me. While I know how fortunate I am to still have my job and good health, I can't seem to shake the anxiety of this ongoing situation.
So, I've turned to colouring.
The acting of putting coloured pencil to page — and trying not to colour outside the lines, of course — affords my mind a few minutes aways from the news and thoughts about COVID-19. That's why, if you're looking for me this weekend, you can likely find me out side in the grass, by myself, colouring pretty pictures of ponies.
Happy Easter weekend, everyone.

I'm still doing my best to get dressed each day while I work from home. But, boy, is it getting more and more difficult to do so.
Most days, if I'm being completely honest, I'm putting on a turtleneck sweater and then pairing it with leggings. What can I say? My meetings are all on Zoom, anyway.
But, in an effort to keep getting dressed — and thus feeling a bit better about things (I know, I know ... it's a control thing) — I put on this spring-approved look.
Featuring a chic textured mock-knit top and '90s-inspired silver sandals, I have to admit that it instantly boosted my mood.
While I won't be getting dressed to this degree every day of the week, I'll keep doing my best to slip into something stylish like this every now and again. You know, so things feel just a little bit normal.

What it is: A floral fragrance from AERIN that features notes of geranium, rose centifolia and orange flower.
Beauty bonus: This scent mixes a few unexpected notes of pink pepper and lemon to freshen things up.
Beauty bummer: If you're not a fan of a big floral bouquet, this fragrance may not be for you.
Overall: We absolutely love AERIN fragrances, so we were excited to spritz on this release.
This floral scent boasts some fresh notes that keep it from being too, well, floral. While the fragrance definitely comes across as "fresh floral" as intended, the subtle citrus note helped to make the overall eau de parfum a bit more exciting than your garden-variety floral scent.
Would recommend? If you're new to the AERIN fragrance world, maybe try something more intoxicating like Tangier Vanille (divine!). But, if you love floral-heavy scents, then yes.

What it is: The first foray into beauty for Hermès sees the French brand introduce a curated collection of lipsticks.
Available in matte and satin finish, the line includes permanent shades such as Orange Boite (yes, inspired by the iconic boxes) as well as a few limited-edition seasonal releases.
Beauty bonus: From the packaging to the soft scent of the formulas, these lipsticks are pure luxury.
Beauty bummer: At $87 each, these lipsticks are (predictably) pricey.
Overall: Fashion fans who can't get enough of Hermès will likely be overjoyed to discover the house's latest métier.
From the petite orange boxes that the lip products come packaged in, to the super-pigmented lipstick formulas contained within — which boast a subtle smell created by house nose Christine Nagel — these lipsticks are a fun, fashionable addition to the luxury beauty market.
We enjoyed the selection of hues that we tried. They all provided good colour payoff, felt comfortable on lips and wore well throughout the day.
But, it was the limited-edition shade Violet Intense, a deep purple hue in a creamy satin finish, that was the sweetest surprise. The colour is like a deep, juicy blackberry. Dramatic? Yes, but in all the right ways.
We can't wait to see how the beauty line develops from here.
Would recommend: Yes, for both lipstick lovers and Hermès fanatics.
