CHANEL Rouge Allure Ink: A quick review

What it is: A matte liquid lipstick from the French beauty brand CHANEL that builds on the popular Rouge Allure Ink lineup with a new product that provides "intense" colour.

Available in Canada in Sept., the new release boasts five shades. The brand is also set to release a metallic range to the collection, as well (check back for a review!).

Beauty bonus: The colour is so vivid! The ultra-fine pigments pack a serious punch.

Beauty bummer: The liquid-y formula can be a bit tricky to apply perfectly without going outside the lines. So, while not exactly a bummer, we suggest not going too quickly around detail spots.

Overall: These lipsticks are our new go-to. Seriously.

The matte formula is perfectly pigmented, each one providing a bold pop of colour with just a few passes of the wand. We fell fast for the shade 818 True Red (note: there are several limited-edition shades in this new release).

Like many lip inks, this lipstick wears well and doesn't need too much upkeep/reapplication throughout the day. We added a touch-up layer after lunch but that's pretty much all that was needed.

Aside from the long wear, bold colour and low maintenance, the Rouge Allure Ink Fusion is super comfortable. Ingredient additions to the formula, such as vitamin E, help add moisture to lips and keep the ultra-matte look without any cracking. No drying here!

It remained comfortable on lips, even after adding that extra post-snack coat.

Would recommend? Absolutely!
