I'm a big fan of staycations.
Offering a break from the routine without requiring a big travel investment, a visit to a sweet staycation spot is always a restorative experience for me.
I recently spent an overnight at Harrison Hot Springs Resort in Harrison Hot Springs. Located less than two hours from Vancouver, the lakeside location offers a getaway feeling without going too far out of the way.
During our stay, we packed in as many of the property's amenities as we could — including a few visits to the property's five natural, hot spring-fed mineral pools and enjoying a few delicious meals at the on-property restaurants.
Without a doubt, one of the biggest highlights of our stay was our visit to the Healing Springs Spa, where we enjoyed relaxing massages and a visit to the private salt pool located in one of the treatment suites. Divine!
The historic resort — its been open for nearly 125 years — is surrounded by nature, which means lakeside walks, hikes and watersports are always a good itinerary addition. Or, you can always just fill your days and evenings with soothing soaks in the hot springs.
If you're looking for a great getaway in the Lower Mainland, I'd highly recommend checking into this resort.
