This has become my winter wardrobe MVP (and here's why you need one too!)

Spoiler alert: This post is a love letter to the shacket.

The hybrid style — it's a shirt and a jacket, obvs — truly is a wardrobe workhouse, working season to season in a variety of different materials and fits.

I've posted about shackets before,  styling a few different iterations in the past and appreciating their versatility. It's funny because, in a recent interview I did with celebrity stylist Jason Bolden for Postmedia News to talk holiday style, Bolden also pointed to the shacket as a closet MVP.

The one I'm wearing here is a fab find from Aritzia. Dubbed The Rialto, the shirt-jacket style features a slightly oversized fit and a belted waist to keep things, you know, cinched in. I also love the thick wool-blend material that makes this piece perfect for layering on chilly days.

I've found a belted shacket has become my go-to outfit with a pair of leather or faux-leather leggings and chunky boots. Especially on days when I don't want to fuss over what I'm going to wear.

It's an easy outfit that's comfortable and looks super chic (win-win!).
