I wore this look last weekend while accompanying my partner to his storage. Why did I dress up so much for such a mundane outing?

Because, quite frankly, I had to.

When the COVID-19 lockdown first started, I decided to continue to dress up, even while working from home. I chose to use style as a way to feel in control during an otherwise very out-of-control-feeling time.

But, as the lockdown lengthened, I felt myself wavering. I opted for a wardrobe that I like to call Business on the Top, Loungewear on the Bottom. It consisted mostly of turtleneck sweaters and leggings.

As things have slowly started reopening, I've felt a strong desire to get dressed again (it's a perfect example of how one's mood can be reflected in their choice of clothing, I guess). The act of putting together outfits and styling looks is giving me joy — and a sense of order — again.

Next, it'll be time to tackle those very visible grey hairs! (I can't wait for my next hair appointment, which can't come soon enough)

So, while I didn't have to get dressed up to go to the storage, in some ways, I had to.
