5 Canadian brands you need to know

Horses Atelier

Just in time for Canada Day,  I wanted to share a few of my favourite Canadian brands.

While I'm constantly discovering new options in the fashion and beauty realm, these are five of my go-to companies that have become (or in some cases, long been) staples in my personal style.

So, without further ado ...

Horses Atelier

This Toronto-based brand is simply fabulous. The design duo behind the brand, Heidi Sopinka and Claudia Dey, create curated collections of made-in-Canada pieces that are meant to be worn forever. The Alchemical Duster coat is my absolute favourite, and I've had my eye on the herringbone one for a few years. This year, I'm going to finally take the plunge.

Aritzia

Founded in Vancouver, this company has been one of my go-to shopping destinations for years. The selection of in-house brands is really great — there's always a style for everyone — and the pieces typically last for years.

BITE Beauty

BITE Beauty

If you're looking for an amazing beauty brand that is made in Canada and goes big on natural ingredients, this is the brand for you. The lipsticks, especially the Amuse Bouche options and the new Outburst Longwear Lip Stain are my absolute obsessions.

Le Chateau

This Montreal-based brand is always such a surprise. I'm constantly wearing key pieces from their collections, like this trench coat, surprising myself (not to mention other people!) with how fun and fashionable their styles are.

Heirloom Hats
Heirloom Hats

This brand has been a relatively recent discovery for me. I stumbled upon it while on Instagram one day, and I'm so glad that I did. I ordered this hat from the Montreal-based artisan behind the brand, Samantha-Tara Mainville and was so pleased with it when I arrived. Her collections are so unique and thoughtful. I'm sure this hat will be the first of many.
