lack of color australia hat

I remember my sister wearing Dr. Martens when she was in high school. A few years older than me, she had a cool-girl vibe that I always wanted to emulate.

But, I never took the plunge to copy her shoes. That is, until now.

I picked out these double-stacked Dr. Martens recently after spotting them on several style stars. A big fan of pairing boots with my go-to Levi's Wedgie jeans thanks to the cropped hem, I felt these might be a fun change from my usual heeled sock boots.

While I jokingly referred to them as my Spice Boots when I showed them to my boyfriend — not to mention received a little gentle ribbing from my sister about copying her high-school style, oh, about 20 years later — I've come to realize that I LOVE them.

They're super comfortable and fit true to size. The experience of owning my first pair of Docs has made me wonder one thing: what took me so long!?

Have you worn Dr. Martens
