Travel Diary: Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

During my first trip to Brisbane, I had the opportunity to visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

Safe to say, it was an experience I won't soon forget.

After embarking on a walking tour of the city with a local guide (it's free, and oh-so worth it!) during which I divulged that I hadn't yet seen any iconic Australian animals, my guide told me I should definitely make the trek to Lone Pine.

So, I followed her advice. And, as it turns out, the sanctuary was one of the highlights of my trip.

The destination offers a variety of animal interactions, but it was the close proximity to the drowsy, adorable koalas that was my favourite element — by far.

If you're ever in the area, I would HIGHLY recommend you make the trip to Lone Pine. You won't regret it. I promise.
