Vans Vancouver

I pretty much grew up wearing Vans.

Growing up in Southern California meant that, while I wasn't myself a skateboarder, many of my friends were, so we all wore shoes from the then-local brand.

In addition to being in style among my friend group, the budget-friendly kicks meant I got a new pair of shoes for the school year — even during the many years where money for clothes and shoes was very scarce.

While I got older and lost touch with most of my skate crew, I never outgrew my Vans. The only thing that's really changed is the styles I've chosen along the way (anyone else remember the sneaker mules of the 2000s?!) It's funny how one brand can hold so many memories ...

Anyway, when I got the chance check out the recent Vans Park Series in Vancouver, I was stoked. After all, these days, I own at least eight pairs of their shoes. Ha!

The free event drew a huge crowd of skateboarding fans — and let's just say, there were more than a few pairs of Vans spotted while I was there. ;)

Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by!
