Well, I'm back in black again.
But this time, I feel like I have a valid excuse: I've been waking up at 4 a.m. every day this week for work and ... well, I'm completely exhausted. Not to mention feeling totally uninspired fashion-wise.
I'm confident my mission to embrace more colour in my day-to-day wardrobe will resume once I can actually think straight again. I'ma give it about a week — and until then, it's back to black for me.
Happy Thursday and thank you for reading!

What it is: A line of Canadian-made skincare products that includes an all-star Face + Neck Cleanser and (my personal favourite!) All-In-One Moisturizer.
Beauty bonus: Many of this Canadian company's products serve more than one beautifying purpose, which (thankfully!) serves to streamline our everyday beauty routines.
Beauty bummer: Those with sensitive sniffers might find the fragranced creams/lotions a tad too smelly.
Overall: I tested a few of the Mèreadesso products including the Face + Neck Cleanser, Lip Treats and the All-In-One Moisturizer. And while I enjoyed all the products, it was the All-In-One Moisturizer (pictured above!) that had me ready to toss out all of my other lotions and creams.
This lightweight gel lotion is a must-try thanks to its almost-instant absorption on the skinand long-wearing, grease-free staying power.
After two weeks of use, my skin looked and felt totally transformed! It was softer, smoother — and all-around happier!
Would I recommend: Definitely!

If you haven't yet been to (or even heard of!) the Deighton Cup and you live in Vancouver ... it's high-time you attend.
The annual event, which is a fun, fashionable afternoon spent at the horse races, took place yesterday at Hastings Racecourse — and let me tell you — it was a great time.
From the entertainment of watching the parade of high-fashion frocks, to the action-packed horse races themselves, it was a wonderful way to spend a sunny, summer weekend.
Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you enjoy my pictures from my first race day!

What it is: A treatment mask for hair with a unique gel-like consistency that claims to deliver intensive repair and restructuring.
Beauty bonus: A gel consistency makes this mask feel very lightweight when applied to hair.
Beauty bummer: This is a one-trick-pony-type of product. Look elsewhere if restructuring is not your only (or main!) goal.
Overall: We were intrigued by the gel format of this mask — but the lightweight feel wasn't enough to keep us reaching for more.
Don't expect a huge dose of moisture with this treatment, as we've found with some of their other 60-second masks.
Hair felt dry and a bit crisp (so not ideal!) after the first use. Maybe with the use of an added conditioner post-mask tresses would feel hydrated and soft.
On the plus side, hair did feel slightly fuller.
Would I recommend: Probably not. Try this one instead.
Price: Approximately $17
Where to buy: Salons

Also, on a happier note ... congratulations to Maria who won the giveaway for a $200 gift card to Le Chateau! Be sure to check back soon for a new contest.
I hosted a Meet the Blogger event at Le Château in Pacific Centre shopping mall in downtown Vancouver this past Saturday — and I had a blast!
During the afternoon affair, I helped the amazing Le Château staff work with clients selecting and styling shoes, clothes and jewelry ... while also snapping a few in-store photos along the way. (Of course!)
While assisting shoppers, I kept hearing stories of their personal pasts with the brand told again and again. It seems almost everyone has a similar experience with this longtime Canadian retailer — one they fondly remember and use as a catalyst to return to the store these days for their latest fashion fix.
Hearing and sharing these personal memories of Le Château was by-far my favourite part of the Meet the Blogger event. But playing dress-up with the clothes was pretty fun, too.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to the event and shared their stories with me — and if you missed it, I hope to see you next time!

One last look at the store — thanks again for having me, Le Château team! |
I often participate in the weekly #StyleChat on Twitter hosted by +StyleCaster (if you don't already take part, I strongly suggest you do because it's a fun way to break up Hump Day with some fashion gossip!) and a question that came up this week got me thinking.
The team at Rachel Zoe asked about summertime staples, tweeting:

The team at Rachel Zoe asked about summertime staples, tweeting:
Which piece in your closet is getting the most mileage this summer? http://t.co/hhgQF3Tjty @StyleCaster #stylechat
— The Zoe Report (@thezoereport) July 16, 2014
And me, eager to respond to anything related to Rachel Zoe ... OK, and maybe hoping for a response from her crew, went to tweet back at them ... but came up short on a response.
I honestly could not decide which item in my closet has been on heaviest rotation this season. I mean, to be honest, this "summer" in Vancouver has only been about two weeks long so far — so I haven't really had the chance to wear and re-wear items yet.
So I racked my brain.
Which summer item in my closet gets me most excited to slip into? My final answer? These Tencel-fabric Wilfred Free overalls from Aritzia.
They're lightweight enough for the warm weather and are oh-so on trend. These bad boys are surely going to be getting the "most mileage this summer."
And I'm digging the Celine-meets-fashionable-Farmer-Ted look with a mock turtleneck pairing, in particular.
I'd love to know what's your favourite summer outfit staple. Share in the comments below!
And don't forget to enter my gift card giveaway for the chance to win a $200 gift card to Le Chateau.
And REALLY don't forget to come visit me THIS Saturday, July 19 at the Le Chateau store in Pacific Centre in Vancouver from 1-4 p.m. for a fun style chat! I hope to see you there!
When I opened my mailbox the other day and saw this amazing leather hat from 424 Fifth inside I was super stoked.
Not much of a hat person myself, I first fell hard for this sleek style during a trip to Mexico in early 2013, when I (stupidly!) passed up a version at the local tourist souvenir trap.
I regretted not buying it pretty much as soon as I left the store.
So imagine my surprise when, a year and a half later, my dream hat showed up in my mailbox!? (Side note: this version is unfortunately not for sale anywhere!)
It's one of those pieces that makes me feel instantly more cool when I put it on.
Cool enough to don boyfriend jeans and neon heels.
Cool enough to rock a side ponytail and a (visible!) sports bra outside of my own home.
And cool enough to channel my inner Rihanna and wear a see-through bodysuit ... well, almost.
Maybe I will just have to stick to the jeans, hat and heels for now. :P
On another exciting note, today is the first day of my Le Chateau giveaway for a $200 giftcard!
It's free to enter ... and there are a few ways to get more than one shot at the big prize!
And (pretty please!) don't forget to come visit me at the Le Chateau in Pacific Centre this Saturday from 1-4 p.m.

I would love to meet you all at the event!
Good luck and thank you for reading! a Rafflecopter giveaway
I'm so, SO excited to be hosting a styling event next Saturday, July 19 at the Le Château in Pacific Centre shopping centre.
Honestly, I am unbelievably honoured to have this opportunity! I love supporting Canadian brands, and —as I'm sure you're all well aware, I love shopping, so this event really is a perfect fit.
From 1-4 p.m., I will be chatting about styling tips and trends at the free event in Vancouver. Similar events will also be held at stores across Canada as part of a national blogger event, so be sure to check with your local store to see if they're hosting one of their own.
I hope to see you all there!

This is the last and final outfit post from my trip to London (I promise!).
While walking to a sunny weekend brunch in Chelsea last month, I spotted this crazy zig-zag wall and knew I had to stop for a quick blog photo sesh.
Set against my favourite new Helmut Lang midi dress, which I already felt pretty cool in (I know, I'm a nerd!), the whole experience — shooting photos in London, wearing this look and being on vacation, in general — made for one chic morning experience.
Happy Friday and thank you for reading!
