Earlier this fall, I had the most EPIC opportunity of ... well, certainly the year!

During a recent stay at Sonora Resort on Sonora Island, I had the opportunity to go on a grizzly bear tour with Homalco Wildlife Tours Inc.

The tour, which is officially called The Bears of Bute Inlet, allows you to get up close and personal with grizzly bears under the guidance of experienced Homalco guides.

Despite the cold, rainy weather, I was hoping beyond hope that we would see at least one bear. Little did I know, the day's tally would ring it at 16 (yes, 16!) grizzly bears.

The bears gather in the area while the salmon are spawning. This allows them to feast on the fishes (sorry, I had to!) before they hibernate for the winter.

It was one of the most amazing nature adventures I've ever experienced. If you've ever considered venturing out to see the grizzly bears, this is the way to do it!
