You know what's the best way to celebrate the arrival of the weekend (#TGIF!)? A mini road trip.

While I'm not exactly a fan of driving in my car for days on end, I do LOVE a good little road trip (think: 4 hours max). So, when I had the chance recently to test drive the new 2017 Ford Explorer, I knew exactly where I would be heading.

I packed up a few of  my favourite things — a good book, a cozy blanket, and a yummy latte — and headed out to Cultus Lake in Chilliwack for a little peace and quiet.

From the get-go, I was impressed with this SUV. From the chic exterior and luxe leather interior, to the vehicle's fuel efficiency (it only took a 1/4 tank to go from Burnaby, to Langley, to Chilliwack and back!), it was an absolute treat to drive.

Once I got to the lake, I found a quite spot, backed the Explorer in, put the back rows of seats down (they fold down totally flat with the push of a button!) and laid down for a good book-and-coffee session — lit by the natural light streaming in through the full-length sunroof, might I add. Cue: total relaxation

At the end of the day, I drove this beauty home and thought sadly about returning it. Safe to say, I am seriously considering this SUV as my next car purchase down the road!

Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by!
