For me, New Year's Eve is all about glitz and glamour.
Whether it's a sexy sequin number from Forever 21, or a feathered frock from Le Château, ringing in the New Year is the perfect opportunity to push the envelope—sartorially speaking.
And I love the idea that you don't have to spend a fortune to look great. I mean, a sparkling shift dress for less than $50? I'll take it.

Happy shopping (and happy New Year!) and thank you for stopping by!
I'll admit it: I've never been a huge fan of houndstooth.
While I find the print interesting to look at, I find it equally distracting to wear, and therefore tend to leave it—in most of its iterations— at the store.
Until I spotted this slick, silver-accented sweater from 424 Fifth.
I was instantly attracted to the absence of an all-over print. Plus, the metallic touch is pretty irresistible. Paired with relaxed white jeans, the look feels—fresh.
It's a classic case of never say never.
Happy Monday (is that even possible!?) and thanks for stopping by!

My family has never been one that hangs around Christmas Day in their sweatpants — at least not until after dinner.
In fact, we usually dress up as though we are headed somewhere fancy ... even though we usually never set foot outside our homes.
So, this sweater dress and maxi skirt combo, was the X-mas morning outfit that I brought to the table.
From the fun, floral appliques, to the comfy sweatshirt material — I'm loving this 424 Fifth find. But rather than style it with the usual tights and booties, I opted to go for a more Gatsby-esque feel with a pleated maxi skirt and luxe accessories.
Thank goodness it's made of somewhat stretchy material, though, because I definitely hit the desserts table with abandon. Hehe.
Happy holiday hangover, and thank you for stopping by!

Here it is — my annual tulle skirt holiday post.
Though I didn't originally set out to make tulle skirts my holiday "thing", the response to my first DIY tulle skirt was so positive that I thought I would give it another go.
I put together this no-sew, DIY tulle skirt during a day off a week or so ago. While it didn't take very long to assemble, I grossly underestimated the amount of tulle fabric I was going to need (it took about 8 metres!), so I had to run back to the fabric store to buy more.
Despite the delay, I'm pretty pleased with this skirt. It's fun, funky and absolutely massive in real life.
Although, truth be told, I probably wouldn't make one like this again. But, oh well. Live and learn.
I hope you like my festive, all-red outfit, though — because I felt like a fiery Christmas elf in it. :)
Happy holidays and thank you for reading!

Here's another outfit post that I've been hanging on to — notice the leaves on the trees? Ya, those are long gone now. :P
But this outfit is still so right now.
I've been living in cozy turtleneck sweaters and remixed trousers — cropped lengths, jogger hems ... you get the picture.
Add in the leopard loafers and this is pretty much my go-to look.
Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by!

I've been holding on to these outfit photos for a while now and I'm not quite sure why.
But, seeing as pre-Christmas sales are sort of getting out of control right now, I thought I should share this look as potential inspiration for a 424 Fifth haul.
This Stella McCartney-esque sweater is the bomb. I honestly haven't been so in love with a piece in quite a while.
I like it so much that I don't even (really) mind that it's now half price — even though I shelled out full-price for it when it was first released.
Oh, well. I guess that just means I can go buy a second one and average out the price of the first.
Oh, wait. That's not how it works, is it?
Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!
Leopard print has increasingly been finding its way into my wardrobe. First it was a handbag, then loafers, then boots — and now, this amazing coat.
I've heard it tossed around that leopard is the new black —and I believe it — because despite its busy pattern, I find this print to be incredibly versatile. And cool.
Hence the whole chainlink-fence-trying-to-be-a-badass thing.
Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!
