Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque: A quick review

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque: A quick review

What is it: A face mask formulated with Activated Binchotan charcoal that detoxifies, clarifies and absorbs while sulphur promotes cell turnover.
This product does not contain artificial colours, fragrances or parabens.

Beauty bonus: Mild exfoliants including volcanic ash, sea silt and bamboo extract along with alpha hydroxy acid add to the benefits of this mask.
Beauty bummer: The sulphur, while benefiting our skin, is quite stinky. We felt we were smelling that scent for days.
Overall: There's no denying it, a good clay mask is essential once in a while.
We liked how this mask dried down on skin, really making us feel like it was drawing out impurities. The exfoliants were a nice addition, leaving skin very soft post-scrub.
Skin was nicely brightened, pores looked slightly reduced and skin didn't feel overly tight.
Would recommend? We didn't love the lingering sulphur scent — in fact, it was a total turnoff. For the splurge price tag, a less budget-busting option will provide similar results.
Price: $60
