Beauty bonus: We love the all-inclusive attitude of this wax bar! The shop's owner, Carmen Perez, caters to everyone — "big bodies, little bodies, cis bodies, trans bodies, battle-scarred or airbrush-perfect: Every body is beautiful. Every body is deserving of care," according to her website. #love
Beauty bummer: Not really a bummer in our beauty books, but the salon is remodelling, so the atmosphere was a bit less spa-like than usual when we stopped by.
Overall: If you're like us, waxing feels like a true representation of the, "beauty is pain" adage. But Carmen does a super job of keeping it as quick and painless as possible.
She efficiently whipped us into bikini shape in her uber-clean and simple studio.
