I love a good cause, and to me, there's none greater than one that supports women and children.
That's why when the team behind this year's Cause We Care charity campaign, which benefits single mothers living in poverty in the Lower Mainland, asked me to help raise awareness for the second year in a row — it was a no brainer to join back in.
The fact that the 2014 La Notte x Cause We Care T-shirt available at Aritzia happens to have a mare and foal on it — which is a part of a special Mother's Day initiative celebrating moms — is just an added bonus for me. I enlisted the help of my pony Peanut for an impromptu photo shoot in the hopes the images would help this charity's special message be received a little further and wider.
Other activities and items included in this year's campaign include a Hamper Drive, Blue Ruby handcrafted bracelets (pictured below) and Coif it up for a Cause at Halo Salon.

The idea behind this math-inspired tag is that certain sartorial pieces, when combined, can create a very interesting equation. Take this outfit as an example:
A simple white tee + boyfriend jeans + eye-catching accessories = a cool, classic outfit
It's based upon the whole idea of finding pieces in my wardrobe that can be added together to create a collection of simple styles that I'll want to wear again and again. Now that's my kind of math.

But this fab topper isn't the only item in my closet that I'm reaching for again and again. I have a serious fixation with florals, too.
I find it so funny how I can go for months and months without donning even the slightest hint of a print on my clothes, but then as soon as spring comes around — I'm hooked.
What's your go-to print for spring?

What it is: A 15-shade eyeshadow palette from Too Faced cosmetics celebrating classically sexy smokey-eyed looks. With a range of shades of purples, greys and browns, this versatile palette is sure to take you from day to night — offering timeless options for both.
Included in the packaging is an eyeliner and a deluxe sized primer.
Beauty Bonus: This product has beautiful shades that set it apart from other neutral palettes. Although this is not an all-neutral palette, many of the colors are surprisingly basic shades.
Beauty Bummer: These shades are very shimmery, some even bordering on extra sparkly. If glittery eye shadow isn't your thing then you might want to steer clear. A few matte shades would have been a welcome addition for some extra variety.
Overall: This palette is a basic, pretty palette to add to the shadow arsenal. Don't skip the shadow primer with these shades as they are quite sheer. Even with a foundation base, we found the colour was more of a wash then a vibrant saturated shade.
The smudger on the eyeliner is a cool, rubbery textured wedge that is amazing for creating the soft lines essential to the smokey eye.
Would I recommend: For a one-and-only palette, then no, but for an indulgence, you bet!

I bought this cropped mesh sweater on a whim after spotting it on the clearance rack at Target.
Though I think it's super cool, I'm also hyper aware of the fact that it closely toes the line between street-wear chic and say-what? weird.
That's why I decided to pair it with a decidedly more delicate piece: a soft peach midi skirt made from flow-y chiffon.
While it's not exactly a match made in outfit heaven, it's kind of growing on me ...

Easter is such a happy time for me.
Since I was a little girl, I remember loving this holiday for so many reasons ... not the least of which was because it always afforded me the opportunity to dress up.
No matter how tight finances were growing up, my Mom always made sure my sisters and I were in our best and brightest Sunday threads. And even though my sisters and I are all grown up now, we still continue the tradition by donning sweet spring outfits and sitting down for a celebratory meal.
I hope your Easter memories are as fond as mine! Happy Easter!

What it is: An eye shadow palette consisting of four coordinating shades. This shadow claims remarkable blend-ability and smooth application with a sheer, pearlized finish.
Beauty bonus: With four shades baked together in one palette it's a super way to experience single shades separately, or multiple colours with one brush stroke.
Beauty bummer: Applied without a base, the shadow was creasing slightly by the end of the day.
Overall: This product will definitely not disappoint makeup fans!
The pressed powder goes on smooth with even colour distribution. Despite appearing frosted in the pot, when applied, it goes on with a surprising hit of colour — minus the sparkle (phew!), leaving lids with just the right amount of shimmer.

I have been waiting patiently (read: impatiently) waiting for the day when I could pull this bada$$ coral leather jacket out of the darkness of my closet and into the spring sunlight.
And finally, that day has arrived.
I love leather, and I love the colour coral ... so this jacket is a cool combination of a few of my favourite fashion things.
Don't be surprised if you start seeing this jacket popping up in quite a few upcoming posts. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit. :P

The sun is finally shining bright in Vancouver — and you can bet I've been out enjoying it.
After a leisurely Saturday out and about the city, I stopped at my favourite gelato shop for a sweet treat and was so enamoured by this bright pink wall that I forced my sister to snap some photos of me for this outfit post.
I mean, it's not every day you find a pretty pink wall bathed in bright spring sun, right?
Happy Monday, everyone!
