What it is: CoverGirl's answer to the jumbo color stick parade, this balm is fortified with Shea and mango for a nice, non-sticky hit of lip hydration.
Beauty bonus: This balm is similar to the other jumbos that are currently on the market. While it does provide a punch of colour, it's not as much as others such as the Clinique version.
The texture is exactly like a traditional lip balm: smooth, slightly on the matte side and not drying like some lipsticks can feel.
Beauty bummer: The only bummer (if there HAS to be one) is if you're looking for a strong hit of colour, this is not your product. Other than that, there's none! This is a quality competitor in the jumbo stick market.

When the Plenty people approached me to be one of the local bloggers taking part in a project for their summer sale - I was super excited!
I'm all about supporting local brands and stores, especially when they are as amazing as Plenty! (Can you tell it didn't take too much convincing to get involved?)
The Plenty Summer Sale runs June 19-30 at all store locations and will feature spring and summer pieces (Savita pants, I've got my eye on you!) - including this Monk & Lou jersey tube scarf.
Think it's just a wear-one-way piece? Think again! Take a look at these four ways to style this one versatile piece.
Double wrap your scarf, fluff it up and go!
All Wrapped Up:
Place the scarf around your neck. Then, create a criss-cross in front and step through the bottom loop. Pull the fabric behind your back (the scarf will now make an X in front). Pull the top portions over your shoulders and midsection and smooth the fabric in front to the desired length and look.
Place the scarf around your neck. Cross each side in front of your body in the opposite direction. Grab a skinny belt and place it around your waist. Pull the top of your scarf out so it covers the belt. Smooth the bottom so it's straight.
Open the scarf and step in the middle. Smooth the fabric around your body. Grab two sections (about 1/4 of the way from each corner) and knot them together in the front.
Shopping bonus: Plenty is giving away a $500 shopping spree to a lucky customer who shops their sale between June 19-30!
Dress: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Jacket: Theory | Heels: Steve Madden | Clutch: Gap | Earrings: Forever 21
During the winter months I swear I can almost hear my summer clothes quietly weeping over their lack of use.
But the weather has finally warmed up enough for me to dust them off and wear them out and, this time, it's me who is breathing an audible sigh of relief as I (finally!) take my knits and pants out of heavy rotation in favour of skirts and dresses.
Dress: Rachel, Rachel Roy (old) | Blazer: Zara | Clutch: Ela Handbags | Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target | Bracelet: Forever 21
The funnest part about fashion is getting the chance to push yourself outside your comfort zone.
While appearing simple and sweet on first glance, this printed dress harbours a sultry secret -- an open back!
And though it's nothing I can't easily conceal with a cute blazer or cardigan, it's fun to test my limits with something that's chic and sexy.
Blouse: Old Navy | Skort: Zara (last seen here) | Necklace: J.Crew c/o | Clutch: Coach | Right arm: Louis Vuitton | Left arm: Michael Kors, Alden Rae and Old Navy | Heels: Topshop (old)I adore a good floral print especially when it's all itsy bitsy, teeny weeny cuteness on an on-trend chambray blouse.
Added bonus? These tops are only $5.99 right now! (Cue jaw dropping in amazement.)
Clinique A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins
What it is: A full range of nail colours that are formulated specifically for those who have sensitive skin and eyes.
Beauty bonus: The applicator brush on these little paint pots is first rate.
Beauty bummer: If you're just looking for a little Clinique for your digits and don't suffer with sensitive skin, then the $16+ price is a bit steep.Overall: Available in a rainbow of colours, this new line of polishes is fragrance-free, Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested and is approved for use on those with an array of dermal dilemmas.
Strictly from a polish perspective, the quick-dry paints offer full coverage with only one coat (see pic below!) -- making quick application a breeze.
While I noticed limited chipping throughout the first couple of days of wear, the glossy shine did seem to fade after only a few days. (Topcoat definitely suggested!)

Adopting a military-cool vibe doesn't have to mean masculine.
I like the idea of a slightly fitted version of the as-seen-everywhere camouflage topper. It helps balance the overall silhouette, while making the look appropriate for day and night.
Chinos: Gap | Blouse: Forever 21 | Necklace: J.Crew c/o | Bag: Loeffler Randall Rider bag | Heels: Topshop |
I've been on the lookout for a pair of relaxed jeans that fit my (*ahem) wide hips and not-so thin thighs.
While these chinos weren't exactly the 'distressed boyfriend' look I was going for, they have a cute striped pattern and complimentary fit that feel just right -- for now.
Pants: Merona at Target | Blouse: Forever 21(love this sleeveless one) | Pumps: Expression by Hudson's Bay (Love these ones) | Necklace: Forever 21 | Watch: Michael Kors | Assorted bracelets: Old Navy | Clutch: GAP
Maybe it's age or maybe it's just the prevalence of floral pieces in magazines, on blogs and ... well, just about everywhere that has caused the change, but whatever it is, I'm enjoying this blossoming side of my wardrobe.
Leather skirt: Danier (love this one) | Tank: Forever 21(old) | Bag: Chanel Jumbo classic flap | Heels: Zara | Necklace: J.Crew | Sunglasses: Prada | Bracelets: Vita FedeI'm totally into leather skirts right now.
But it's difficult to find one that doesn't look like (a.) part of a Halloween costume for a sexy librarian or (b.) a cheerleader's skirt.
I was excited when I found this slightly flared version that seems to strike the perfect balance between naughty and nice.
What's your take on leather skirts?
What it is: A new line of shampoo, conditioner and serums that claims to turn back the clock on aging hair.
Beauty bonus: After the initial wash my hair smelled squeaky clean.Beauty bummer: The product claims to fight signs of aging in hair ... as if we all needed one more thing to worry about looking old! ... But I tested the shampoo and conditioner on my dry, colour-treated hair and noticed little transformation whatsoever. After the first wash my hair still felt like straw, with the addition of feeling weighed down and residue-y.Overall: After reading rave reviews on a few different websites, I had high yet realistic expectations -- none of which were met. I found no improvement to my hair's overall condition or shine, and was disappointed with the heavy residue the products left behind.Would recommend? NoPrice: Approximately $9.99 per bottle
