One peplum, four outfits

Neoprene peplum top with a metal and bead belt and a ruffle skirt
If you've looked in a fashion magazine in the last few months, chances are, you've stumbled across a few peplum tops.
And if I were really in a betting mood, I would also venture to guess that you have one (or even a few) garments with a peplum accent in your closet right now.
So, if peplums are so popular, why does it seem that only obvious outfits (paired with a body-con skirt) always seems to come up when researching online?
Take a look at the outfits I've put together as alternatives to the tried-and-true (or is it tired-and-true?) peplum silhouette.

Neoprene peplum (Dynamite) used in all looks.
Look No.1: Red skinny jeans (Old Navy Rockstars), polka dot blouse (Pure Alfred Sung, old), bag (Celine Mini Luggage), necklace (Forever 21)
Look No. 2: Pencil skirt (Forever 21, old), mint belt (The Gap), clutch (Ela Mirror Ball)
Look No. 3: Neon jacket (Zara), necklace (Expression from The Bay), watch (Michael Kors), bracelet (Forever 21), shoes (Jessica by Jessica Simpson)
Look No. 4: Metal and resin bead necklace worn as a belt (Expression from The Bay), skirt (Forever 21, old)
